DISCLOSURE: Please note that all the horses that you view on this page are from individuals and are not owned by Double J Farm nor have the horses been assess by Double J Farm.  All sale ads are the sellers exact words.  Double J Farm takes no responsibility for the condition, temperment or faults of the said horse.  It is the buyers responsibility and strongly suggested that you view and ride the horse before purchasing.  Listed below are some guidelines to buying a horse.

HOW BUYERS CAN PROTECT THEMSELVES:

  • Ask questions. Document the answers to questions.
  • Tell the seller what you intend to use the horse for and ask if the horse is suitable for such use. Ask if there are any known conditions which would hamper the horse’s performance in this capacity.
  • Use a written purchase agreement.
  • If there's something that is vital to the sale, such as soundness, breeding capacity, etc., be sure to have it included in the purchase agreement.
  • Properly inspect the horse. The level of inspection depends upon the intended use, breed and sport standards. If you are not sure what type of inspection is necessary contact a professional breeder, trainer or equine veterinarian.
  • Test the horse’s suitability for its intended use.

HOW SELLERS CAN PROTECT THEMSELVES:

  • Answer questions truthfully.
  • Inform the buyer, especially if the buyer is inexperienced, that they have the option to obtain a veterinarian exam of the horse if they desire.
  • Always use a written purchase agreement.
  • Include "as is" and merger provisions in the contract. If the buyer requests to have guarantees or warranties included in the contract, determine if you want to be held to those guarantees or warranties.

SOLD to Kaitlin Knox ~ Congratulations!

For Sale:  Mustang Mare $1000 ~ Ghost's mother was from the Wild Horse Sanctuary in Hot Springs, SD, who was struck by a bullet while the wildlife peeps were trying to disperse the herd. Although Ghost’s mom did live out the rest of her life with the bullet never removed. But enough about her mother :)

Ghost is a 7 year old Dunn Mustang Mare that is crossed with a paint, but you would never know she was crossed unless I told you. She deffinately takes from the Mustang breed. Ghost would make a good brood mare, she is such a sweetie, very willing and young enough to still train your way. Ghost is in my opinion still a little green but not crazy. She has not tried to buck or rear at all and really not done anything to cause us to want to sell her. The only reason that we are selling her is that we do not have the time that she truely deserves and needs.  I have too many horses and can only spread myself so thin over them all.

So this leads me to say that Ghost is a horse that is full of potential and needs someone who can commit to riding her. She is too young to wait for me to have time to work with her. She needs a job and is too good of a horse to be wasted. I plan on placing her to a loving and responsible home where I know she will be cared for and not be sent to a sale.

Ghost is:

Ridden Western but potential for English
Gives her head when you ask her for it
Loads
Trims, never had shoes, because she doesn't need them
Loves attention
Very quiet when in "heat"
Stalls but would prefer to be pastured
Will wear blankets

                     FOR SALE:    HEZA AWESOME GENT

“Heza” is a 10 months old, wonderful stud colt with great manners.  He has been started lightly (once every two or three weeks)  in the round pen at a walk/jog, and sometimes a lope when he is frisky.  He understands verbal and hand signals in the pen.  He halts on the rail when you raise your hand above your head, neat huh?  He leads, ties, and backs in hand.  He bathes in the wash bay, stands for the farrier to be trimmed, and stands for the vet as well. Heza also stood to be Body Clipped when he was six months old with no training devices used… He was tied to a ring and stood there patiently.

He would be ready to put in halter classes NOW as he has been taught by us to trot in hand, and he comes down to a walk when you come to a walk.  No need for a chain on this little man, he is exactly what his name says, a “Gentleman”.

Papers are in hand, eligible for the Incentive Fund and he is ready to be transferred into your name.  He could be your next Halter, Hunter Under Saddle, Western Pleasure, also showing possibilities of a Cutting prospect or breeding Sire.

His blood lines constist of, HEZA AWESOME MR (Heza’s Sire) CONCLUSIVE, MR NORFLEET, SONNEY DEE BAR, and MR BAR NONE.
