Welcome To

Double J Farm

BARN RULES

Every horse must be tacked in their stall, to free up the aisle way for others and to prevent horses from getting loose, kicking other horses and so on.  The only exception to this rule is if no lesson students are present in barn and no other boarders are in need of the barn. In this case, you may use the aisle cross ties, otherwise you should use the stall cross ties provided.

No Smoking in or around the barn.

Barn hours must be observed and followed carefully.  Sunday-Saturday 8am – 9pm

No child under the age of 16 years old will be allowed to be unaccompanied on the farm; they must be accompanied by an adult.   Children should behave well and not climb on stalls or gates, no screaming, and no running in the barn or around horses.

Safety helmets are to be worn while riding, if you should not wear your helmet, you are aware that you are taking a risk that could result in a worst-case scenario, death.

No riding past 8 pm, and all horses must be cooled down before returning to the stall.  If the horse missed feeding, the feed will be waiting for them when they return to the stall, this is why it is important to cool down before returning to the stall.

Horses will not be tied by their bridles, and should not be tied to stall fronts or doors, use tie rings only.

Cleanup after yourself and your horse, keep all areas neat and clean leaving the area the same as when you arrived, if not better.  We want to spend our time caring for the horses, not cleaning up after their owners. If you tack in the stall, clean up is the same, pick stall if needed to remove stool, hair, ect. and empty barrel at manure pile, then broom the shavings back as they were.

When using the wash bay, you must use the spray nozzle always to reserve water, and please be considerate of the fact that we are on a well (that could stop producing water at any time) so if your horse does not need to be rinsed off, use a bucket and sponge.  We will be very appreciative!

Hoses should be coiled up after use; shod horses can puncture the hose if stepped on.

No person should enter stalls or barn while mounted on a horse

Turn off lights when you leave a room or barn.

Do not park in front of barn doors and leave a reasonable amount of space from the doors, so that your vehicle cannot be kicked or stepped into.

No vandalizing of the farm will be tolerated in any way shape or form.

All guest or visitors of a boarder must sign a liable waiver before, entering a stall, pasture, riding ring. ect.

No dogs are allowed on the premises.

Please no gossip, clicks, shouting, horseplay or running, these are not allowed at our barn.  We want to provide a friendly and relaxing environment for all boarders, students and visitors.  We expect all parents to educate their children on how to act around and in the presents of horses.

Thank you kindly for your cooperation,
