In Loving Memory of our Beloved "Dakota"

1983-January 19, 2010

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the herd, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy tears rain upon your face; your hands again caress his neck, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your horse, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....   Jaime says "Wait for me and we will run through the fields like we used to.  I love you so much sweet boy, we will miss you and you will NEVER be forgotten, ever."

Condolences from our friends

Dakota was a very good horse for me to ride on each week.  He did not scare me and he liked to play the "Ball Toss" with me.  I liked to play "Super Man" on his back and feed him treats.  I loved him even when he tried to nibble my fingers.  I had fun with Dakota and I love him very much!!!
Love, Cooper (the boy on Dakota in the picture above)

So sorry to hear the news - you did the best you could.  It takes real love to know when to let go.

Linda

Dakota is no longer suffering & remember all of the good times that he brought into you life.  He's running thru the pasture's, playing with friends we never knew that he had & most of all, he's healthy & happy as all horses should be!  These things happen for a reason & we'll never truly understand why.

You are my friend, & I hope you know that if you need a shoulder to cry on that mine is here.  Luv ya my fellow horsey girl!!!

Kristen

Oh Jaime... I'm so sorry... You've got me in tears... At least he is playing in big pasture across the rainbow bridge... Please let me know if you need anything.

He was such a sweet boy and so full of personality... we'll all honor that spirit by loving our lives and his memory.

We are so,so sorry for your loss.  Dakota was a wonderful, extraordinary horse that was the best teacher and friend.  We feel very fortunate to have been able to know such a great horse and have him teach Jamie so much.  I can still see that smile on her face at her last lesson.  Angela mentioned to Jamie that she smiled the whole time she was having her lesson and she said she couldn't help herself and she couldn't stop, that "she just loved riding Dakota".  Thank you for sharing him with us, and for letting us know about his passing.

Our thoughts are with you guys and please let us know if there is anything we can do for you.

Leslie, Jamie and Jordan
